PIRANHA FISHING AT THE PERUVIAN AMAZON
SAT offers unique Amazon cruises and lodge stays at the Peruvian rainforest!
While Puerto Maldonado is the gateway to the southeastern jungle, the Tambopata National Reserve and the Manu Biosphere Reserve, Iquitos leads to the northern Amazon basin, with some of the top jungle lodges in the country. The best way to really get in touch with the rainforest is by good old sea kayak.
With SAT travellers edge deep into the Amazon backwaters and even catch some piranhas! While fishing, guests have the time to search the trees for toucans and macaws, and keep an eye out for pink dolphins and caimans. TREKKING IN CHILE: TORRES DEL PAINE NATIONAL PARK
Torres del Paine is one of the most spectacular national parks in the world, with hundreds of kilometers of trails through ever-changing landscapes of jagged peaks, turquoise lakes, and mammoth glaciers. Our SAT hiking expeditions take guests through stunning landscapes that range from Patagonian steppe to forest, topped with fantastic views of the Southern Ice Field. Travelers may choose from 5* hotels and excellent lodges as well as very comfortable hosterías, even glamping is available! Different day hikes are offered on a daily basis. Alternatively, Patagonia’s most famous trail, the ”W”, is a 5-day hike with overnight at mountain huts and refuges.
SNORKELING WITH SEA TURTLES AROUND THE GALAPAGOS ISLANDS
The Galápagos may be the best destination worldwide for watching wildlife on land, but the marine marvels underwater are beyond belief. León Dormido at San Cristóbal is a prime snorkeling spot. White-tipped reef sharks and rays are commonly seen here. A visit is combined with snorkeling among sea turtles.
