The Caribbean is a unique part of our world, and many believe that all the destinations are about the same wherever you go and that couldn’t be more wrong! For example, they have different nationalities, come from different cultures and have very different types of beaches, types of nature and offer very different experiences once you are there. That’s what makes each destination unique and that is why you to know more to be able to find the right destination for the right customer.
It also differs in how to get there and between the destinations in the best way. It’s far from all destinations that can be easily combined, and you need to know what works best.
As you can see below, there is a lot to discover and learn, we will help you along the way. Feel free to join our workshops and meet us and of course our valued partners.
British influences:
St Lucia, Barbados, Grenada, Jamaica and Antigua.
All of them are different islands with different experiences, things they have in common is that they all have left-hand traffic and you get there through London. Some can be combined with each other with one flight ticket all the way and some of them you must book separately.
On several of them you can see clearly that they are still British Islands, of course with strong and proud Caribbean way of life. You can often se historical remains from the time when the Islands was colonized by the British and they have tourist sights to visit. You will find big differences around the islands from small local villages to big luxury hotels that more than often are all-inclusive resorts.
French influences:
Guadeloupe & Martinique and half of St. Martin.
The first two are incredibly lush islands with volcanoes, tropical rainforest and strong ties to France which is reflected in the language, culture and food. Both are also members of EU.
St. Martin is a completely different type of island, not as lush in nature as the others. St Martin is special in its own way because it is divided into a French and a Dutch part, more different than you might think. You can of course experience both sides and we encourage you to do just that. In common for all three Islands is that you can combine Islands, and you can also get by boat to other nearby islands.
Dutch influences:
The ABC islands all belong to the same nationality but are still very different islands, none of them are alike.
Aruba – an island with American influences and absolutely magical beaches. Perfect for those who want to stroll around and just enjoy themselves in a beautiful environment.
Bonaire – the little undiscovered gem, more like a national park and an absolute paradise for snorkelers and divers. Maybe not the first choice for those who like the beach, but definitely for those who value the sea and life below the surface. For those who want less tourism and a unique experience.
Curacao – the middle ground between these two islands. Has beaches and good snorkeling and diving, also city life and much stronger Dutch and European influences and tourism.
Here we also have the Dutch half of St. Martin as mentioned earlier. There is a clear difference from the French half in everything, currency, language, influences in the food, etc. A “take two for the price of one” island!
Spanish influences:
Mexico, Panama and Cuba, three destinations for different types of travelers
Mexico and the Dominican Republic are often relatively affordable destinations, often with all-inclusive included at larger hotels. Perfect for those who want a relaxed vacation with a lot included and want to explore the destination and see the sights through excursions. Fantastic nature and culture.
Panama and Cuba are often combined with a couple of nights in the capital before moving on to the sun and swimming part of the trip. A trip to Cuba is for the flexible traveler, the one who is okay with things changing and not being perfect but wants to experience its unique culture.
Spanish influences mean the language here obviously, but also in the culture and food. As with all destinations in the area, it is still a lovely mix of several different cultures which makes it so exciting!
